Gary and John met in the college orchestra string section, formed a group, and landed a steady engagement at a restaurant in Cape Girardeau. After returning to St. Louis they formed Sound UnLimited playing numerous venues throughout the St. Louis area.
They have performed with many St. Louis favorites including Russ David, Jeanne Trevor, Rusty & Jenny David, Jerry Cherry, Willie Akins, Roland Johnson, Gary Dammer, Johnny Polzin, Jerry Gotler, Marty Bronson, Jo Schirmer, Cliff Frederickson, Perry & Julie Moreno, Laura Marie and R&B Great, Roland Johnson..
In 2003 they had the honor of performing with Jeanne Trevor at the US Bank Jazz Festival in Clayton MO as the warm up act for Al Jarreau! They also were performed on KMOX's "The Morning Meeting" with Charles Brennan. More recent performances include the Sheldon and a steady at one St. Louis' famous fine dining restaurants - Kemoll's. Current efforts include a Back To Future Series of concerts featuring live 5 piece and larger bands.

John's musical background includes a Master's Degree in Music, 12 years of music education experience including 5 years at St. Louis University where he directed the 18 piece SLU Jazz Ensemble and taught Jazz Improvisation. John's performance experience includes the International Jazz Festival in Senegal, Africa with vocalist Jeanne Trevor, Sheldon Concert Hall with Willie Akins and Randy Holmes, Jazz at the Bistro with Denise Thimes and Mae Wheeler and has served as the musical director for the St. Louis Show Stoppers. His activities with Sound UnLimited include arranging, playing keyboards, trumpet and vocals.

Gary studied violin with Walter Riedger of the St. Louis Symphony but his passion has been the guitar since his early teens. Gary joined the musicians union while in high school and got a chance to experience the end of the big band era playing with several bands (Johnny Polzin, Lester Lanin and others) at landmarks like Casa Loma, the Chase Hotel and the Admiral. Gary’s recordings include jingles, an LP and several CDs, and he has performed at numerous shows, concerts and jazz festivals. Gary “doubles” on bass, piano, banjo, violin and does arrangements for the band. Following multiple careers in business and psychology Gary’s primary focus is now on music and technology.
